Dan Ruimy’s career is defined by reinvention and leadership under pressure. Over four decades in the restaurant industry, he helped open more than 150 franchise locations and held senior roles including Business Consultant, Director of Training, and Director of Operations across Western and Eastern Canada, including Quebec.

He eventually stepped away from corporate life to explore new paths, a period that led him to build a community-focused bookstore and café in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

​

Dan entered public service, serving as a Member of Parliament from 2015 to 2019 and later became Mayor of Maple Ridge.

​

He lives there with his partner, Deb, and their dog, Piper.
